What the price does not hide
Popular shorteners often meter tracked clicks, stop new links at the monthly quota, or quote a price that assumes a year paid up front. Brevily’s rules, beside what is common elsewhere.
Clicks are not a meter
Redirects are unlimited and no plan prices a click; Pro and Business count every one.
Elsewhere: tracked clicks are a monthly quota on several popular shorteners, even on plans around $30 a month.
Monthly, never a year up front
Every plan is billed monthly at the price shown and can be cancelled at any time. There are no annual plans to lock into.
Elsewhere: the advertised price often assumes a year paid up front: month to month costs more, and some entry plans are sold only by the year.
A price past the allowance, not a wall
On Pro and Business, a link past the month’s allowance is 2 credits, from the plan’s monthly credits or a pack. Credits you buy last 12 months.
Elsewhere: some stop new links once the month’s quota is used, until the cycle resets, and offer overage only on enterprise contracts.

Prices in USD, before tax. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and adds tax where it applies. Receipts are emailed, and every purchase is listed in the console under Billing.
Past an allowance, credits
1 credit is 1¢. Past a monthly allowance, each extra use takes credits: first the plan’s monthly credits, then packs you have bought. Without enough credits, the use waits for the allowance to reset.
| What costs credits | Credits |
|---|---|
| Password protection, once per link | 10 |
| Temporary link, per 30 days | 1 |
| Link past the allowance, per link | 2 |
| Destination edit past the allowance, per edit | 1 |
| Styled QR code past the allowance, once per link | 5 |
| Webhook deliveries, per started 1,000 deliveries | 1 |
| Extra own domain, a month | 300 |
| Extra seat, a month | 500 |
Every charge is listed on the console’s Credits page, naming the link it was for. Nothing is refunded.
| Credit packs | List | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,500 credits | $25 | $23.75 | $22.50 |
| 10,000 credits | $100 | $95 | $90 |
| 25,000 credits | $250 | $237.50 | $225 |
- Pro takes 5% off a pack, Business 10%. Free cannot buy packs: on Free, making links stops at the allowance until the next month, and links already made keep working.
- Bought credits last 12 months; the oldest are spent first.
- Monthly credits do not carry over to the next period.
How billing works
Monthly, in dollars
There are no annual plans. Prices exclude tax: Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, takes the payment, adds GST, VAT or sales tax where it applies, and issues the invoice.
Change plan at any time
A dearer plan applies at once, charged pro rata for the rest of the period. A cheaper one starts when the period you paid for ends.
Cancel at any time
Your plan runs to the end of the month you paid for, then moves to Free. Links on Brevily’s domains keep working as long as someone signs in at least every 180 days; after that they show a “not in use” page and, 90 days later, are released: a chosen back-half can be taken by anyone, and destinations are deleted. Your own domains show a “not active” page until you are on a plan that includes them again.
No refunds
Access starts the moment you pay, so payments are not refunded, and you are asked to agree to that at checkout. That covers a downgrade, a cleared password and a deleted link too.
If a renewal fails
The owner is emailed and has 7 days to pay. After that the organisation’s links show a “not in use” page, and are held before they are released: a chosen back-half can be taken by anyone, and destinations are deleted. Paying again wakes them.
Not at once. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then moves to Free. On Free, links on a Brevily domain keep redirecting as long as someone in the organisation signs in at least every 180 days. After that the organisation goes to sleep: its links show a "not in use" page, and 90 days later they are released: a back-half you chose can be taken by someone else, and where each link pointed is deleted. Signing in before then wakes it. Links on your own domain keep working until the end of the period you paid for; after that, domains Free does not include show a "not active" page, and come back if you move to a plan that does. You can export every link, with its clicks, as CSV at any point.
Each short link created counts once against the month’s allowance: a calendar month on Free, your billing period on Pro and Business. Clicks are never charged for, so a link that goes viral costs you nothing extra. Deleting and recreating the same link twice counts twice.
A credit is one cent, and most people never spend one. Each plan has monthly allowances: links, destination edits, styled QR codes, webhook deliveries. Past an allowance, each extra use costs a few credits at the prices on the pricing page, taken from the credits the plan includes each month or from a pack you bought; without enough credits, the use waits for the allowance to reset. Credit packs are sold on Pro and Business, with the plan’s discount, and bought credits last for the months stated on the pricing page. Every charge is listed on the Credits page in the console.
Plans are monthly only, at the price shown, and can be cancelled at any time: there is no annual plan to lock into and no price that assumes a year up front. Free needs no card. A paid plan starts with a checkout through Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, which adds the tax that applies where you are and issues the invoice; card details never reach Brevily.
A dearer plan applies at once and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. A cheaper plan applies at the end of the period you paid for, and the current one keeps working until then. Moving to Free cancels at the period end. A subscription keeps the price it was sold at: if a plan’s price rises later, yours does not; if it falls, the console offers the lower price. Nothing is refunded.
